When driving around Ottawa, you may have noticed some steam coming out of pipes in different places. It turns out the City is busy re-lining some old sewer pipes to extend the life of the lines. Utilities Director, Dennis Tharp compares it to some product used in weatherization:
Tharp says re-lining the sewer line costs about a quarter of trying to dig up the old lines and laying down new ones.
