Anderson County is about to get new restaurant. Chris’s Café is preparing to open a larger location in Greeley. Owner, Chris Cooley, started the business in Osawatomie and says although it’s tough to say goodbye to that city, she is looking forward to working in a larger space. The last day for the Café to be open in Osawatomie is Saturday and plans are to open the new place in Greely on May 4th, under the same name. Originally she wanted to keep both open, but getting staff was tough in Osawatomie. She and Chris Haley have been running the Osawatomie location, with little help, 12 hours a day, six days a week and it’s been stressful.
She says they have received several qualified applicants for jobs at the Greeley location. She would like a six-person crew per shift, with three in the kitchen, two waitresses and one person clearing tables. In addition to the same breakfast and lunch, they plan to be open for the dinner crowd on Friday and Saturday evenings and a Sunday brunch from 9:00 to 1:00 and closed Monday and Tuesday for some much-needed time off.
