Drivers on Highway 59 need to be aware of a fatality accident at Highway 59 and Finney Road. Law enforcement is still on the scene, that also involved serious injuries. The road was completely blocked and the Franklin County Sheriff’s office is diverting traffic away from the scene.
The call came in just before 4:00 this morning of an erratic driver on Highway 59. Shortly thereafter, another call came in reporting an injury accident. Crews responding to the scene initially reported that the driver had fled the scene. The Sheriff’s office has called for a search of the area for the driver and the Kansas Highway Patrol assisted with a helicopter in the search for the driver.
Again, authorities are still working the scene of a fatality accident with other serious injuries at Highway 59 and Finney Road, just south of Princeton. Both lanes of 59 were still closed in that area, as of a few minutes ago. If you are traveling in that direction, you will need to find an alternative route.
