The Commission has been wrestling with what may be an archaic issue… Mixed Use Zoning has a minimum requirement of three acres… and the rule has caused a delay in a developer’s plan to turn the Econo-Lodge into an apartment complex. The motel is around two acres. During discussion of the issue, Diana Staresinic-Dean gave a brief history of Mixed Use Zoning:
