Two men are dead after a shooting outside the Hy-Vee at Clinton Parkway and Kasold Drive in Lawrence, Tuesday night. One man was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting, shortly after first responders arrived. Lieutenant David Ernst, a spokesperson for the Lawrence Police Department, says another man had been critically injured and was taken to an area hospital by ambulance, but was later pronounced dead. Police and first responders were dispatched to the parking of the store just after 9:40 last night. Ernst says that in addition to the two men who were killed, they were currently speaking to four other men who were nearby at the scene, but he did not know their involvement at the time.
The men killed were not identified and no other details were provided, as the investigation is ongoing. Police ask anyone with information on this incident to call the department or call 911.
