The Franklin County Commission has a big decision to make in the near future. Commissioners will decide whether to close the Juvenile Detention Center in Ottawa, because it’s seeing less and less use. Community Corrections Director, Dustin Browning, told the Commission that recent juvenile reforms were targeted at saving troubled youth while in their early years:
The County Commission is expected to make a decision on closing the detention center at its June 1, 2022 meeting.
