If you’re looking for something fun to do with the family this weekend, why not head out to Lake Garnett and check out the kart races, sponsored by the Garnett Enduro Club. The Lake Garnett Raceway is home to a 2.6 mile road racing course and a 1/3 mile asphalt sprint track. Lake Garnett offers some of the most competitive kart racing in this part of the country. The North Lake Park is unique in that it provides a free viewing site on the south side of the road course, near the park entrance. Watch the racers as they sprint down the west side straight-away, exceeding 100 mph, maneuver through hay bales and tight corners. The racing schedule runs from 8:00 o the morning to 4:00 in the afternoon. Both Saturday and Sunday.
Also today, head down to the Garnett Town Square for the 6th Annual Classic Auto, Bike and Truck Show, sponsored by the Southland Cruisers. It will run from 8:00 to 2:30 and have all kinds of activities for all ages. From hula-hoop contests to a pin up contest, plus great music from DJ Everett Cox.
If you have a car, truck or motorcycle you’d like to show off, bring it to the show!.
