A Baldwin City man is in the Franklin County jail after being arrested for attempted first degree murder. According to a News Release from the Franklin County Sheriff’s office just after 6:30 yesterday morning, 22-year old Devin W. Fuller was arrested after a Sheriff’s Department investigation. Detectives say Mr. Fuller discharged a weapon from his vehicle, at another vehicle, while chasing it southbound on U. S. 59 Highway, at a high rate of speed.
The incident began in Douglas County, but the criminal act occurred near the 4500 block of U. S. 59 Highway, inside Franklin County. The investigation was a coordinated effort between the Ottawa Police Department, Baldwin City Police Department, Douglas County Sheriff’s Department and the Lawrence Police Department Tactical Team.
Fuller is currently charged with attempted first degree murder, criminal discharge of a firearm and criminal possession of a firearm. His bail is set at $1 million.
