In Kansas most of the severe storms that produce tornadoes occur in May, June and July. While we can have tornadoes any month of the year, we are in the heart of the severe weather season. It’s important to have multiple ways to receive weather alerts. Relying on just sirens can actually lead to being uninformed. Franklin County Emergency Management Director, Thomas Winter, says — don’t rely on the sirens:
