An Ottawa man was charged yesterday, June 8, 2022, with raping a 13 year old in Douglas County. Twenty two year old Ernest Ingram, was charged in Douglas County District Court with one count of rape, one felony count of furnishing alcohol to a minor with illicit purposes and a misdemeanor charge of furnishing alcohol to a minor.
The documents allege that on September 20, 2021, Ingram raped a 13 year old child and also purchased alcohol for a child, to encourage or induce the child to commit a sexual act. It wasn’t clear from the documents, whether the charges were all related to the same child.
At Ingram’s first court appearance, Judge Blake Glover, told Ingram that the rape charge was an off-grid felony and could result in life in prison if Ingram were convicted. Ingram is being held at the jail on a $150,000 cash bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday, June 15.
