The project in which the Econo-Lodge in South Ottawa, would be converted into a housing complex is now before the Ottawa City Commission. Project Head, Josh Walker, gave commissioners some details:
The project has been delayed because of zoning regulations that require a three acre minimum size for the zoning category Walker is asking for. The Econo-Lodge is around two acres. The City Commission is expected to approve an exception that would allow smaller lots. The exception was approved earlier by the Ottawa Planning Commission.
