Last week we told you about the flag ropes being cut at the post office, the American flag thrown on the ground and the POW flag stolen. While we did say it was very windy and the ropes could have been damaged… it happened again!
The Ottawa Police Department informed Ottawa Chamber of Commerce President, John Coen, that the POW flag in the northwest corner of Legacy Square had been stolen. In Legacy Square, the two flags are on different poles and fortunately they did not disturb the American flag. Who ever is responsible, cut the ropes and took both the ropes and the flag. Again, this is drawing the ire of many people, myself included.
If you have noticed anyone who mysteriously obtained two POW flags recently, let the Ottawa Police Department know. They would like to know who is committing and why they are committing these senseless acts. It’s a slap in the face of all veterans who honorably served in defense of our country. It also shows a lack of respect for other people’s property and is a deliberate attempt to cause grief to others.
