The Ottawa City Commission has approved the transfer of one and a quarter million dollars from two city funds, to carry out a Federal Grant, known as the Base Grant. Ottawa Finance Director, Melanie Landis, gave some background to the program:
Ottawa was one of only a very few towns that received the Grant, out of a very competitive field.
