The return of the John Brown Jamboree in Osawatomie this past weekend, Thursday June 16th to Saturday, June 18, was a success on many levels. It is something the people in town, as well as those who traveled to the City for the event, are still talking about. Starting with the parade Thursday, June 16th, that had nearly 100 entries and 1,500 to 1,800 people on the streets watching; to the talent contest, basketball tourney, baby contest and many other events. It was something City Manager, Mike Scanlon, says people can expect to return:
He adds, it will be back to-back huge weekends in Osawatomie as the Lights on the Lake Celebration with a huge fireworks display and a concert featuring multiple award winning country music star, Sara Evans, will take place.
