Inmates at the Franklin County Jail are employed while in jail, at least in one sense. Sheriff Jeff Richards says there’s a program that allows inmates to meet some of their court-ordered financial obligations:
Richards says he’s looking at other ways inmates might be put to work, such as cleaning up trash in various locations.
