You have heard of blue-green algae warnings during the summer. It’s not only a danger in public swimming and fishing lakes, but in farm ponds where cattle typically drink. K-State’s AJ Tarpoff explains what it actually is:
Both of the toxins are major concerns, not only for livestock, but for people and pets, also. Pomona Lake is under a blue-green algae watch. Crystal lake and Garnett lake are under warnings. You are advised to avoid the water.
