Franklin County has nearly $5 million in Federal American Rescue Plan Act, or ARPA Funds, to spend in the next few years. they would like to use the money on projects that will benefit everyone. Commission Chair, Roy Dunn, says upgrades are desperately needed in public works and on Old 50 Highway.
The City of Ottawa also has a chunk of ARPA money. They are deciding what to use it on and, like the County, they would like to work on things that will benefit the City.
