An accident in Osage County yesterday morning killed an Ottawa woman. Just before 9:00 yesterday morning, Thursday, July 7, Osage County Sheriff’s Deputies, Osage County Fire District Number 3 and Osage County EMS responded to a report of an injury accident near mile marker 164 on I-35 south of Melvern. Upon arrival, deputies found a Dodge Caravan, that had been traveling northbound on I-35, had left the roadway for unknown reasons and had rolled into a tree line. The driver of the vehicle, 64 year old Velma Kissinger of Ottawa, was transported to Overland Park Regional Hospital with critical injuries. Unfortunately, she later died from the injuries she received in the crash.
The accident is stull under investigation by the Osage County Sheriff’s Office.
