There is a big focus on mental health these days, and you’ve likely heard about a variety of age groups, from kids to adults, different professions, like law enforcement and teachers, but one group that isn’t talked about as much are the elderly. Marias Des Cygne Extension District Agent, Kathy Goul, says it’s important for the elderly to protect their metal health:
Goul says keeping your mind sharp is one way to reduce the negative effects of aging. She suggests reading, getting with friends and relatives as often as possible and volunteering in the community as ways to stay mentally fit.
