Under the new Kansas Law, taxing entities that plan to exceed the Revenue Neutral Rate for their new budgets are required to report their intent to the County Clerk. That deadline was yesterday and the Ottawa City Commission approved their intent to exceed last years rate. Ottawa Finance Director, Melanie Landis, went through the process for Commissioners:
The Mill Rate was set at a maximum of 45.968 Mills. The public will have an opportunity to ask questions and give feedback at a Public Hearing set for September 7th at 7:00 in the evening.
