Have you noticed a smaller number of honeybees in your yard and pretty much everywhere, this spring and summer? You’re not alone. The number of bees is significantly lower and the President of the American Honey Producers Association, Chris Hiatt, says there are many things stressing bees and contributing to colony losses, including drought:

Hiatt says drought took a huge toll on his personal colonies, reducing them b over 50% and cutting honey production drastically. The USDA says bees are an essential part of our agriculture, pollinating many fruits, nuts and vegetables, and their health directly impacts our food security.
