The man accused of murdering his room mate at their residence at 11th and Ash in late June, was in Franklin County District Court yesterday morning, Monday, August 15th. Twenty nine year old Anthony Alvarado was charged with second degree murder. Alvarado is accused of the stabbing death of 29 year old Dalton Presley. His Attorney, John Boyde, asked the court for more time to view discovery evidence. He was granted that time. They will be back in court on September 26th.
Franklin County Attorney, Brandon Jones, says there is a huge amount of evidence to comb through in the case and he expects the case to be a long one.
Investigators with the Ottawa Police Major Crime Squad and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, were on the scene of the murder for four days, collecting evidence.
Alvarado is charged with second degree murder in the case.
