The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and the Ottawa Police Department will be joining the “You Drink, You Drive, You Lose” Campaign in a Statewide attempt to remove impaired drivers from the roadway. The campaign starts today and runs through Labor Day, September 5th. During that time local law enforcement will be extra vigilant on the roadways across Franklin County. Law enforcement will be on the lookout for both alcohol and drug related impairments. One person is killed in a drunk driving crash every 52 minutes in the United States; just one drink before driving can put you and others in danger.
Don’t be haunted by the memory of your decision that resulted in injury or death. If you are driving impaired, you are not only more likely to crash, but that crash is more likely to cause serious injury or death. Think about your family, your friends, your co-workers and neighbors.
