Ottawa High School’s FFA Program will have a new leader this year. New Agriculture teacher, Allyson Gilmore will be the FFA sponsor. She earned her degree in Agriculture Education at Kansas State University, along with an Associated Degree in Equine Science and Reproduction at Colby Community College and her Welding Certification from the North Central Kansas Technical College.
FFA has already chosen its officers for the upcoming year. Chosen as President is Erin Livingston. The junior has a variety of AG interests, including horse judging and food science and wants to continue her knowledge of equine and animal science. She plans to be on a rodeo team and study AG Science in college. Vice President is junior Laura Wingert. She is interested in Developmental Psychology and says her favorite thing about FFA is working with new people and participating in competitions. The Treasurer’s position went to Haylee Clear. The senior plans on going to nursing school, but loves floriculture and livestock judging and says FFA gives you a feeling of family and lifelong friendships.
We’ll have information on the other officers, MacKenzie Cunningham, Brynn Perry, and Raelee Morrow, soon.
