Officers were dispatched to a reported injury accident in the 2000 block of South Princeton Friday afternoon, May 12th. At 12:47, 81 year-old Veronica Ouellette of Ottawa, was driving northbound in a 2009 Chevrolet when 33 year-old Leslie Dickey of Williamsburg, driving a 2016 Ford Fusion, ran into Ouellette while trying to leave the parking lot of Custom Dental, on the way to the Kansas State Bank ATM. Ouellette’s vehicle left the roadway and collided with a utility pole after being struck. Ouellette was transported to AdventHealth by Franklin County EMS for possible injuries, while Dickey was treated on scene and released after being cited for failing to yield before entering the roadway.
There was a minor detour in the area for about 45 minutes for an investigation and for the Ottawa Utilities Department to assess the damage to the utility pole.
