Burlingame – Rose Ann Parker, 89, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2024, at Brookside Retirement Community in Overbrook, Kansas. She was born on September 24, 1934, in Fostoria, Kansas, the daughter of Earl and Fern (Craven) Parker.

Rose graduated from Burlingame High School in 1952. After graduation, she moved to Wichita and worked for Boeing Aircraft. She returned to Burlingame and ran the Old BoxCar Cafe for a time. She then worked at Goodyear Tire in Topeka for 25 years, and then worked for the Postal Service at Pauline.

Rose served on the Burlingame City Council, the Board of the Burlingame Apartments and worked to get the Burlingame Rodeo started again. Rose also loved sports, and she played softball on the OHSE Meats National Team and softball and basketball for Stevens Dairy in Wichita.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Fern; by two of her sisters, Lila Jones and Verna Parker; and by two of her brothers, Earl and Dale Parker.

Rose is survived by her brother, Don Parker of Burlingame; her two sisters, Shirley Hansford and Darlene Bobendrier, both of Vassar; other family and friends.

A graveside memorial service will be announced at a later date at the Burlingame Cemetery.
