Leslie Lee Boyles, age 80, of Lawrence, Kansas, passed away peacefully at his home the morning of Tuesday, June 25, 2024.

Lee was born on August 19, 1943, in Garnett, Kansas, the son of Frederick Sr. and Anna Marie (Rice) Boyles. He graduated from Garnett High School with the Class of 1961. Lee was a nurse in his younger years, and eventually became a nursing professor after receiving his Doctorate from MidAmerica Nazarene University, until his retirement. He was at a place in his life where peace was a priority.

He was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Mathew; his parents; his brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Myrna Boyles; sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Phillip Phares; two nieces, Tamara Boyles and Kelli Boyles Burris; and nephew, Stanton Phares.

Lee is survived by his nieces, Rebecca Hermreck and husband Glenn of Paola, Kansas; Debbi Campbell and husband Mark of Garnett, Kansas and Krista Phares Meister of Pharump, Nevada; nephew Jeff Burris of Bonner Springs, Kansas; great niece, Natalie Claire Campbell of Austin, Texas; three great nephews, Blake Hermreck and wife Katie of Paola; Brandon Hermreck and wife Laura of Fairway, Kansas; and Blaine Hermreck and wife Hannah of Colorado Springs, Colorado; one great great niece, Nora Hermreck, and one great great nephew, Nolan Hermreck.
