Barbara J. Mudd, age 84, of Garnett, Kansas passed away on November 4, 2024 at Guest Home Estates.
She was born to Thomas and Zella (Martin) Baysinger on December 14, 1939, in Madison, Kansas. Barbara grew up on a farm outside of Madison and from there she went on to attend business college in Wichita. After graduation, she met Gene Mudd who became her husband and together they were blessed with three sons. For many years she worked for Western Paper in Wichita.
Barbara loved living life to the fullest. She enjoyed going on trips, spending time with family, putting together puzzles, playing cards with friends, and reading a great book.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; sister Sharon Purvis and brother, Thomas Baysinger.
She is survived by her three sons, Gene Mudd Jr. of Wellington, Kansas, Glenn (Lisa) Mudd of Garnett, Kansas, Greg Mudd of El Dorado, Kansas; eight grandchildren, 19 great- grandchildren; two sisters, Marilyn Guglar of Emporia, Kansas, Bonnie Funk of Colorado; and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation will take place and to honor her wishes there will be a private family burial.
