Rebecca “Becky” Sue Berg, age 75, of Louisburg, Kansas, passed away on Monday, November 4, 2024, at her home.
A Celebration of her life will be held later this month.
Becky was born on July 1, 1949, in Larned, Kansas, the youngest of two children to Kenneth Daryl and Dolores Elizabeth (Schroter) Armstrong. She grew up in Larned and graduated from Larned High School with the class of 1967. Becky received a Secretarial Certificate from Emporia State University and took Early Child Development courses at KU. She worked as the office manager for the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce before starting her family. She lived in Olathe, Ks and Ft. Lauderdale, Fl before moving to her current home in Louisburg, Ks. where she has lived since 1983. Becky started Spring Valley Preschool in 1984 and ran it for about 10 years at their home in Louisburg, Ks.
Becky was united in marriage to Kenneth “Ken” Berg, on October 1, 1983, at their home in Louisburg, Kansas.
Becky has been very active in the United Methodist Church in Louisburg and has served as Conference Secretary of Global Ministries for the Methodist Church. She was active in the Louisburg Chamber of Commerce for a number of years. One of her true loves was working with children with special needs and dedicated endless hours volunteering with Special Olympics. In 2015 she help start Tusonge Children Ministries, a non- profit organization that gives children in Uganda, Africa an opportunity to go to school.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Dolores Armstrong.
Becky is survived by her husband of 41 years, Ken Berg, of the home; daughter, Shelley (Alan) George, of Ottawa, Kansas; two sons, Travis (Robin) Crawford, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Dustin (Angie) Crawford, of Oahu, Hawaii; step-daughter, Terri Berg, of Rapid City, South Dakota; step-brother Paul (Patty) Berg of Kansas City, Mo;. brother, Daryl (Julie) Armstrong, of Phoenix, Arizona; eight grandchildren, Jessica Lickteig, Grace Lickteig, Braxton (Olivia) George, Keaton (Caitlin) George, Lexton George, Kiona Crawford, Kade Crawford, Caressea Lentino; two great grandchildren, Kali George & Remi George as well as many extended family members and friends.
