Hester L. Shively, 93, of Osawatomie, passed away on November 11, 2024 at Vintage Park Osawatomie.
She was born on October 17, 1931 to Roscoe and Ruth (Corey) Corn at Stilwell, KS.
On January 19, 1952, she married Jack Shively. Hester and Jack lived in Osawatomie for over 70 years. They owned the Osawatomie Auction and Salvage Food Store for 15 years. They also ran fireworks stands.
She was a member of the Paola Church of Christ, VFW ladies auxiliary, and the Ladies Eagles. Hester enjoyed spending her time playing bingo and playing cards. She enjoyed watching and cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals. Hester was known in the family for cooking the best catfish. She loved being with her daughters and her grandchildren.
Hester is survived by her loving daughters, Terry (Mike) Weaver and Sandra Shively, five grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren. As well as sisters, Doris Guinn and Janice Allen and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Roscoe Richard Corn, mother, Ruth Madge Corn, her husband, Jack Shively, brother, Norman Corn, sisters, Evelyn States, Kathleen Reed, Marilyn Dillon.
