Elby Junior Magee age 82 of Beagle, KS died Monday November 11, 2024 at his home.
Elby was born October 11, 1942 in Bethany, MO. He was the eldest child born to Elby Lee and Mildred (Darby) Magee. He grew up in Overland Park, KS.
Right out of high school, Elby enlisted into the United States Airforce. He was honorably discharged after four years.
Elby went to work for Boeing for a short time and then started working for himself. He built custom motorcycles and custom vans. In the 70’s Elby moved to a farm in Rural Osawatomie where he did leather working and made saddles and other horse tack. He worked on a ranches in the area and in Drexel, MO.
On April 21, 2001, Elby and Rhonda Ryan were united in marriage in Paola, KS. They made their home in Osawatomie.
In his free time, he enjoyed leather working and tinkering with motorcycles. Elby was the happiest when he was being a cowboy, working on the ranch and dressing in his buckaroo attire. He was a member of the Let There Be Light Fellowship in Osawatomie.
Elby was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Rhonda of the home, daughter, Kate Magee and her children; Karter, Reid and Harper, step daughter Angela Lea, her husband Shane and children; Quinton, Jadeyn and Tatum and daughter Toni Walsh and children; Jake and Kevin. Along with one sister, Sandra Wilson, other extended family and friends.
