(Ottawa, KS) – The city of Ottawa is putting the clamps on some expenditures and there is a hiring freeze in effect outside of the Police and Fire Departments. That is due to the budget cuts coming down from Kansas Legislators. Mayor Gene Ramsey explained the cuts in detail at last nights Ottawa City Commission meeting. Ramsey added city staff would make any necessary changes at the end of the 2008 Legislative session.
