OTTAWA — Despite the controversy over the massive federal economic stimulus package, Ottawa school superintendent Dean Katt said the money will be a big help to Kansas schools struggling to maintain programs. The Ottawa school district may have to make cuts but they won’t be as severe as they were shaping up to be before Gov. Kathleen Sebelius decided to use some of the economic stimulus money to prop up the state’s schools, Katt said.
