OTTAWA — Construction on a new Bea Martin Peck animal shelter could begin as early as next Monday, vice president Vickie Whittaker said. The deadline for contractors to bid on the new building is next week, she said. The new animal shelter will be on K-68 east of Ottawa. The shelter will be much larger and healthier for the animals and be more inviting to the public, she said.
