POMONA — The Pomona City Council will have a special meeting tonight at 7:30. The council will try to finish last week’s meeting in which all but one of the council members walked out in protest. They objected when new mayor Joanne Hancock attempted to fire Doug Combs, who is the city’s zoning administrator and building inspector. An executive session for personnel is on the agenda but last week, the council members refused to go into executive session when Hancock asked for one to discuss Combs. A public hearing about vacating an alley will be at 7 p.m. before the special city meeting.
