GARNETT — A powerful storm lashed Anderson County Wednesday night. Golf-ball sized hail fell in the Westphalia area and torrential wind and rains hit Garnett. Flying in News Chopper 9, Channel 9’s Johnny Rowlands filmed a tornado from the storm system touching down west of Westphalia and broadcast it live for the KMBC news cast at 6.
