OTTAWA — A proposal to move the county juvenile detention to a site next to the Elizabeth Layton Center has prompted a question if the move is the first step to move the county jail from its present location. Williamsburg resident Gene Hirt asked county administrator Lisa Johnson if that was the case. Johnson said there is no plan to move the jail and that moving the juvenile center will free up more space for more jail inmates.
