OTTAWA — The Franklin County wheat harvest is winding down. Ottawa Co-op’s Matthew Vajnar said the harvest was more than two-thirds done Wednesday. This year’s harvest is an improvement over last year’s poor harvest, he said. The quality and yield of wheat harvested this year is about average, he said. However, the number of acres planted to wheat in Franklin County is sharply lower than last year, he said.
