Yesterday Governor Mark Parkinson announced plans to cut State General Fund spending by 90.6 million dollars, including 39.1 million dollars in state aid to Public Education. The cut are designed to close a shortfall in the current fiscal year 2009-2010 estimated at 160 million dollars. Senate Majority Leader, Derek Schmidt says don’t be surprised if another round of cuts occur this year.
