BUSH CITY — A plan to build a commercial wind farm in Anderson County is taking a turn for the better. Tradewind Energy official Matt Gilhousen said his company has decided to request permits from the county to begin building wind turbines. Tradewind Energy has studied the site for nearly five years and is ready to proceed, he said. The site is southeast of Garnett and north of Lone Elm. Although Tradewind Energy should get its permits in the next two or three months, it could still be a couple of years before the turbines are built.
