OTTAWA — After two years of waiting, Ransom Memorial Hospital will undergo a $9 million expansion and improvement project. Now that trustees have given the green light, hospital chief financial officer Dean Ohmart said the project will begin quickly, with ground-breaking sometime later this month. The two-year project will begin with a new expansion for a new surgery suite and a new birthing center. Then the project will begin overhauling patient rooms and converting them to private rooms, he said. A majority of the work will be done by local contractors, he said.
