SALINA — The state will honor more than 400 members of the Kansas National Guard on Sunday in Salina prior to their deployment to Egypt. The Guard members, including 90 people from the Ottawa National Guard unit, are going to Egypt for nine months. The Kansas Guard members will be part of a peacekeeping force observing the Sinai Desert and the border between Egypt and Israel. The Guard members will go on pre-deployment training for three months next week.
