OTTAWA — The Ottawa school board looked at four options for school facilities Monday night. The board wants more input from the public, said school superintendent Dean Katt. The district needs at least 12 units, he said. A unit is one K-6 section. The four options all include improvements at the high and middle schools. Highlights of the four options — No. 8, $30 million: expand Garfield and Eisenhower elementary schools; use Eugene Field for administrative office. No. 7, $34 million: Expand Eisenhower and renovate Eugene Field. No. 5, $35 million: Build new elementary at 19th and Eisenhower; expand Eugene Field; use present Eisenhower for administrative offices. No. 4, $32 million: Build new elementary at 19th and Eisenhower; expand Garfield; use Eugene Field and Eisenhower for administrative and community purposes.
