OTTAWA – Mid-America Nutrition Program has received a $1,500 grant from the Meals on Wheels Association of America. The national group says the grant was in recognition of Mid-America’s success of its 2009 March for Meals campaign. March for Meals included Mayors for Meals in which five mayors in the area delivered meals. The campaign also included an auction and benefit dinner in March. Executive director Sharon Geiss said Mid-America raised more than $9,000 and generated more interest from the public. Mid-America Mutrition serves balanced and nutritional meals to older persons in Franklin, Anderson, Coffey, Osage, Miami and Linn counties.
