TOPEKA — The man convicted of killing two women and stuffing their bodies into barrels on a Linn County farm has appealed to the Kansas Supreme Court. John E. Robinson Sr., called the “Slavemaster,” claims there were several errors during his trial seven years ago. In his filing, he said there were errors in jury selection, misconduct by prosecutors and lack of jurisdiction for Johnson County judges to issue search warrants in Linn county. Robinson was sentenced to die for the deaths of 27-year-old Suzette Trouten of Newport, Mich., and 21-year-old Izabela Lewicka of West Lafayette, Ind. He also received a life sentence in Kansas for the murder of a third woman, whose body was never found, and received life in prison in Missouri after pleading guilty to five other murders.
