SCRANTON — A Topeka man was injured Thursday in head-on collision involving a semi-truck just south of Scranton in Osage County. The Kansas Highway Patrol reported that Brian Bennett, 21, Topeka, was driving west on U.S. 56 when he approached a sharp turn in the highway. A semi-truck driven by Stephen VanDruff, 38, Burlingame, was pulling a long flat-bed trailer east. Bandruff was using part of the westbound lane to get the trailer around the curve, troopers said. Bennett hit his brakes but hit the truck head-on. He was taken to Stormont-Vail Medical Center, Topeka.
Vandruff wasn’t injured.
