OSAWATOMIE — The city of Osawatomie has proposed a razor-thin increase in its property tax levy for next year. Osawatomie USD 367 has proposed a larger increase for next year. The city council proposed an increase of nearly .02 of a mill. The city’s mill levy for next year would be slightly more than 53 mills. The city’s budget hearing will be 7 p.m. Aug. 13. The board of education has proposed an increase of 3 mills. As proposed the school mill levy would be slightly more than 53 mills. The school board’s budget hearing will be 7 p.m. Aug. 12.
