OTTAWA — A fire in the 600 block of South Maple Street destroyed a vehicle and damaged a house. Ottawa assistant fire chief Richard Oglesby said the fire started in the vehicle and the heat from the fire damaged siding on two sides of the house. The house sustained $4,000 in damage but the vehicle was a total loss, he said. An unextinguished cigarette may have started the fire in the vehicle, he said.
