OTTAWA — In this week’s Crime of the Week, the Franklin County Sheriff’s office asks for your help in solving a burglary and theft that occurred at Crist Auto Sales, on East Logan Street on the east edge of Ottawa. This crime happened during the night of July 31. A 2005 white and silver 32-foot Double-Tree fifth wheel camper-trailer was taken. The top of the camper trailer is white. The bottom 3 feet of the trailer are silver. Also stolen: awhite, 1986, four-door, Chevrolet 1-ton pickup with an orange stripe on the sides; a Jenson flat-screen television; a Haier 26-inch LCD television with digital tuner; Kansas license tag, 131-AYP; a Missouri license tag, 7533-PA. The total loss is estimated at over $45,500. Anyone with information about this crime should call the Franklin County Crime Stoppers at 1-888-311-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous. Franklin County Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of any person(s) committing a felony crime in Franklin County.
