GARNETT — The Garnett City Commission approved a budget with a cut in the city’s property taxes for next year Tuesday evening. The city mill levy will drop 1.7 mills.
City manager Joyce Martin said that because of the recession, increases in employee health insurance premiums, and losses in investment interest income, it’s been one of the most difficult budgets she’s worked on.
